“Justin’s strengths are his creativity and passion for excellence. A couple of Justin’s milestone achievements here at Pathway were two fundraising initiatives and our church name change and rebranding. These projects were very large in scope and Justin did a great job of executing them with excellence. Because of change in the size of our church over the last 14 years from 1500 to over 3000 Justin has had significant experience in every facet of communications from strategic planning, budget planning, social media strategy, web design, video production, mass marketing, to graphic design. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Justin to work with your organization.” —Todd Carter, Lead Pastor
WHAT DO THEY DO:
For over 50 years, Westlink Christian Church has been helping people connect to Jesus and become His fully-devoted followers. pathwaychurch.com
A location change and new campus additions made it apparent the old, location-based name no longer worked. The church was also looking for a better way to communicate the mission. They were also looking for a simple tagline that would effectively communicate the church’s purpose and vision.
HOW WE HELPED:
Justin led the communications and branding effort, along with a talented staff and volunteer team, to develop a strategic plan and guide the church through the process. The team developed a comprehensive launch plan to communicate the new brand to both internal and external audiences. Ultimately, the name Pathway Church was chosen – strengthening the church’s mission to help people take steps on the spiritual pathway toward Christ. Part of the rebrand strategy was to develop a new positioning statement/tagline for the church. The goal was to simplify the mission statement and purpose of the church into a simple phrase that could be easily remembered and lived out by church attenders. We wanted to be sure people would quickly and clearly understand why the church exists. Through research, brainstorming, and collaboration the team developed the tagline, “Following Jesus • In Community • For Others.” The tagline was approved and incorporated into all church communications. The line worked immediately and has become a cornerstone for communicating the threefold purpose of the church.
