THE CHALLENGE:

A location change and new campus additions made it apparent the old, location-based name no longer worked. The church was also looking for a better way to communicate the mission. They were also looking for a simple tagline that would effectively communicate the church’s purpose and vision.

HOW WE HELPED:

Justin led the communications and branding effort, along with a talented staff and volunteer team, to develop a strategic plan and guide the church through the process. The team developed a comprehensive launch plan to communicate the new brand to both internal and external audiences. Ultimately, the name Pathway Church was chosen – strengthening the church’s mission to help people take steps on the spiritual pathway toward Christ. Part of the rebrand strategy was to develop a new positioning statement/tagline for the church. The goal was to simplify the mission statement and purpose of the church into a simple phrase that could be easily remembered and lived out by church attenders. We wanted to be sure people would quickly and clearly understand why the church exists. Through research, brainstorming, and collaboration the team developed the tagline, “Following Jesus • In Community • For Others.” The tagline was approved and incorporated into all church communications. The line worked immediately and has become a cornerstone for communicating the threefold purpose of the church.
